TBC Transformation

"And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God." Romans 12:2

2014-2015 have been years of TOTAL TRANSFORMATION at Timothy Baptist Church.

Transformation is defined as "making a thorough or dramatic change in form, appearance, or character of something."

As the Lord has led us down this path, our physical church and the spiritual interior of our members, the church and body of Christ, have all been impacted by this process of transformation. Watch below as our Pastor Dr. Larry Green Sr., M. ED. explains more about the exciting changes we're underway.

In line with the theme of transformation, we began our Phase 1 of physical change in June with the help of 45+ mission volunteers, our brothers and sisters in Christ from First Baptist Church in Southern Pines, North Carolina. With their help coupled with our congregation members, we extended our pulpit, added new choir stands, stripped and shellacked our floors, removed and garnished our pews, built an altar that will be re-carpeted, converted the balcony, painted in our lower sanctuary, and scraped and sanded the baptism pool. Our historic transformation project even garnered the attention of a local newspaper, the Bay State Banner; read the story here for more details.

Timothy Baptist Church is a historical building located in the heart of Roxbury, Massachusetts.  Although our building is small, we meet many large goals, which benefit local and surrounding area residents.   A few of our Outreach Ministry events are: free Vacation Bible School serving many families throughout Boston and surrounding communities, Annual Community Day, which includes a cookout, clothing giveaway and fun and games for all; and the second Sunday of every month is designated as Friends and Family Day where fresh flowers decorate the sanctuary and are given to the sick and shut in or visitors after service.  We have a strong Youth Department who not only offers opportunities for our youth, but has a game night every three months for the community.    The Men of Valor Ministry mentors male youth and offers safe alternatives in an effort to equip them with skills to make positive life decisions which will affect themselves and their communities.

Our church offers weekly Bible Study, at minimum, 3 to 4 days per week including an in home study for the sick and shut in.  Our Missionaries provide hot meals to those in need once per month, food baskets on major holidays and other assistance whenever necessary and possible.

Due to time constraints and skills, funding our work continues.  We are doing our very best, but we need your help in raising $60,000 necessary to complete the work.  All tax deductible donations will be used for upgrades, as well as, contractor fees.  Please know there is no contribution too small or large.  Any donation is greatly appreciated. Please visit our gofundme page where you can help take part in this process. Keep praying for us. Transformation never stops! Be blessed and thank you.
